From Seatrade Cruise News – Thursday 14th April 2016
Shannon McKee, president of Access Cruise Inc. advised of a new collaboration with Liz Gammon, former manager of shore excursions and cruise services at Iceland Travel.
Gammon will take on the role of EVP Access Cruise focusing on accounts and market strategies alongside expanding the company’s services internationally, primarily to the European marketplace.
‘I am delighted to welcome Liz onboard. She brings a wealth of experience, creative marketing talent and energetic versatility to our growing team and we are very excited to have her join us,’ said McKee.
‘In light of her location, we are now on our way to creating a global brand,’ concludes McKee.
Access Cruise, Inc. is a consulting group dedicated to providing a range of services to all sectors of the cruise industry – a niche, Gammon says.
Gammon left Iceland Travel last month after an eight year spell. ‘One of the most rewarding parts of my previous job was finding innovative ways to promote and market my destination to the cruise lines. When I joined Iceland Travel as manager of the cruise department in 2008, it held around 5% of the market share. Today it is over 50%.’
‘Personal highlights so far were developing a new revenue stream with the successful stop over package ‘Ice En Route’ and creating a tour which won the Seatrade Cruise Award for Innovative Shorex of the Year 2011,’ says Gammon.
Many thanks to Mary Bond at Seatrade.
